Background
The
RSPCA NSW Auxiliary is a group of volunteers (originally formed
'Ladies Auxiliary' in 1954) who raise money for special projects
and promote the aims of the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals). The term 'Ladies' Auxiliary was a
misnomer as we have men on our membership list and we welcome
others to join.
The NSW
Auxiliary is the external fundraising arm of the RSPCA. The
group comprises of volunteers (currently over 200 members)
who raise funds to promote the protection, comfort and welfare
of animals and for much needed equipment and facilities at
the Yagoona shelter.
